If this is your idea of a perfect Christmas, then your choice is simple. The testimony to Tim and his team is the number of customers who return to Lancaster House year after year. Our house is your home for Christmas 2010. This year we are again offering a great value 1-night package, as well as our ever popular 3-night house party.

Programme of Events

Christmas Eve - Friday 24th December 2010

Your house party begins from midday when you arrive. Relax and unwind in front of the log fires, enjoying a hearty Lancashire afternoon tea. You may want to head into Lancaster for some last minute Christmas shopping, or just stay indoors relaxing in our Leisure Complex.

Tim Bell, General Manager, and his team, invite you to the evening celebrations with a champagne and canapé reception, where you will have the opportunity to meet your hosts and welcome friends, old and new. The magic of the carol singers sets the festive mood and then we'll take you through to your sumptuous candlelit dinner in the Restaurant. The local parish churches welcome the community and visitors alike for Midnight Mass. Mulled wine with mince pies will await your return to the hotel.

NB: Please note that arrangements for Midnight Mass should be made on an individual basis. Details of various local churches, and directions, are available from Reception.

Christmas Day - Saturday 25th December 2010

A very Merry Christmas will begin at breakfast time when Father Christmas has promised once again to take time out from his busy schedule and make an appearance, bearing gifts for all. After you’ve opened all your presents, join us for a glass of champagne in front of the fire before settling down to our traditional five-course Christmas Luncheon. A half-bottle of wine per person is included with your lunch. Suitably well fed and watered, the afternoon is yours to “snooze off” if you wish. Tonight's celebrations continue with a light but sumptuous buffet for your dining pleasure. The evening is relaxed and informal with games and quizzes for all the family.

Boxing Day - Sunday 26th December 2010

A hearty brunch will be served all morning. For the afternoon, we’ve organised our very own Winter Olympics with fun games and challenges for the whole family. Afternoon tea is served before we whisk you off to the Pantomime. You return to the hotel for dinner, then it's an evening of fun with the sport of kings as we invite you to join us for a "Grand Night at the Races" complete with tote desk, winners enclosure and betting shop with superb prizes, as always, for the best (or luckiest) gamblers.

Christmas Day - Saturday 25th December 2010

Arrive from any time in the morning and settle into your room. The Leisure Club will be open in the morning for those who fancy a quick dip in the pool. Join us for a glass of champagne in front of the fire before settling down to a traditional five course Christmas Luncheon. Following this, the afternoon is yours to relax and “snooze” off the lunch. Later on in the evening there will be a light but sumptuous buffet, and indeed the whole night is relaxed and informal with parlour games available for all the family in the bar and lounges. On Boxing Day morning, there will be a hearty brunch served before you check out at midday.

3 night package

Our 3-night holiday package commencing Friday 24th December and departing Monday 27th December, fully inclusive of all meals, entertainment and excursions as detailed, is £445 per person.

1 night package

Our 1-night Christmas Day package arriving on Saturday 25th and departing on Sunday 26th December, inclusive of lunch, buffet dinner, overnight accommodation and brunch, is £155 per person.

Children's rates

Under 3's are free of charge with meals charged as taken. Under 15's sharing a room with 2 adults are charged at 33% of the adult rate. Under 15's in their own room are charged at 50% of the adult rate based upon two sharing

Luxury Rooms and Studio Suites - £40 per room per night.

Additional "Bolt-on" Nights

Arrive early or extend your stay for only £40.00 B&B p/p/p/n or just £65 room only (based upon 2 people sharing a twin or double room). Applicable dates: December 23rd, 27th, 28th & 29th.

Discounts

Our 3-night New Year House Party is famed for its superb food, drink and entertainment, all personally overseen by your host and General Manager, Tim, who always ensures his guests have a party to remember. And for those who can’t join us for the full three days, this year we are once again offering special one- and two-night only packages.

Thursday 30th December 2010

Arrive at your leisure from midday onwards when, after settling in, traditional Lancashire cream teas will be served in front of our log fires. We start our celebration with dinner served in our AA award-winning Restaurant. Then we have an evening of fun with the sport of kings as we invite you to join us for a "Grand Night at the Races" complete with tote desk, winners enclosure and betting shop with superb prizes as always for the best (or luckiest) gamblers.

New Year's Eve – Friday 31st December 2010

Have a leisurely morning after breakfast. You may want to explore the historic city of Lancaster or take a drive into the surrounding countryside. The Sandpiper Leisure Club will be open for those who fancy a quick dip or some beauty treatments before the big party tonight.

Dress this evening is formal, as your House Party really begins. Tim Bell and his team invite you to our champagne and canapé reception where you will have the opportunity to meet your hosts and welcome friends old and new, before enjoying our "Hogmanay" five-course gala dinner, inclusive of a bottle of house wine per couple served in the Bowland Suite. The entertainment starts straight away with “80’s rewind” cabaret act* who will raise the tempo with the classic sounds of the 80’s and, along with our resident DJ, will count down the last moments of 2010 and welcome in 2011 with “Auld Lang Syne” from our piper, to the accompaniment of another glass of champagne. A late supper will be served for those who a fancy a bedtime snack.

*NB: The artistes are correct at the time of print. However, the hotel reserves the right to change the act due to any unforeseen circumstances.

New Year's Day - Saturday 1st January 2011

Happy New Year! No need to rush down today as a leisurely brunch will be served all morning. It’s a gentle pace to start the day, and the Leisure Complex will be open for a dip in the outside hot tub or a soothing swim. For the afternoon, we’ve organised our very own Winter Olympics with fun games and challenges for the whole family, along with some tasty titbits for anyone feeling peckish. The evening starts with a cocktail in front of the fire before a 3-course dinner in the Restaurant. Our ever popular pub quiz with yet more prizes concludes the evening.

After breakfast we wish you a fond farewell, a happy and prosperous 2011 and will hope to see you again next year.

Tariff

Our 3-night holiday commencing 30th December and departing 2nd January, fully inclusive of all meals and entertainment as detailed, costs £399 per person. Should you wish to arrive on 30th December for 2 nights, or 31st December for 2 nights, the price will be £269 per person.

Children's rates

Under 3's are accommodated free (meals charged as taken).
Ages 4-15 sharing a room with 2 adults are 50% of adult price.
Under 15's occupying their own room are 75% of the adult rate, based on two sharing.

NB: The formal New Year's Eve celebrations are not ideally suitable for children under 10.

Our One Night Packages

New Year Party in the Bowland Suite - 31 December 2010

Arrive at your leisure from midday onwards when, after settling in, a traditional Lancashire cream tea will be served in front of our log fires. You may want to take this opportunity to explore the historic city of Lancaster or take a drive into the beautiful surrounding countryside. The Sandpiper Leisure Complex will be open all day, so you can relax in the facilities which include sauna, steam room, heated indoor pool and even an outside hot tub! Tonight you will be joining our 3-night New Year guests in the Bowland Suite for entertainment as detailed above. On New Year’s Day, there’s no need to rush down too early as a leisurely brunch will be served all morning. After brunch, we say farewell and we hope to see you again next year.

Tariff

Our 1-night New Year package commencing 31st December, fully inclusive of full Lancashire cream tea on arrival, all meals and entertainment as detailed, costs £189 per person.

Due to table availability, smaller parties (ie 2 - 4) may be asked to join other guests.

NB: Our New Year's Eve celebrations are not ideally suitable for children under 10. All prices are based on two persons sharing a twin or double room inclusive of service plus VAT.

Terms and Conditions

Booking and Deposits

For more information, or to book your Christmas or New Year Holiday, please telephone us. To secure your holiday, a non-refundable deposit of £100 per adult is required at the time of booking. This can be made by simply quoting a credit card number and details, or by sending a cheque which must be received within 7 days of the booking being made. Full payment of the outstanding balance is required 6 weeks prior to your stay.
