'Sail-thru’ full afternoon tea at Storrs Hall
From July, boat users in need of refreshment can simply sail up to the jetty at Storrs Hall on the shores of Lake Windermere and have afternoon tea delivered straight to the hotel’s private jetty.
Storrs Hall has long been one of the most popular venues for afternoon tea in the Lake District, where the English favourite can be enjoyed on lawns leading down to the lake or in the beautiful surroundings of the hotel. But now boat users who order their full afternoon tea in advance will be greeted at the hotel jetty by a waiter armed with a selection of mouth-watering sandwiches, scones and cakes served on the best fine bone china and traditional silver tea service on a crisp linen tablecloth.
The new wave in alfresco dining will be available daily, from 2pm until 5pm, and people who want to take a break from their vessel are also welcome to come ashore to enjoy their full afternoon tea in classic style in the hotel’s 17 acre gardens or in the atmospheric lounges of the hotel.
Full Afternoon Teas costs £15.50 per person. Tableware provided with the full afternoon teas but must be left with hotel before sailing off from the jetty. * Pre-booking is essential to check availability. Terms and conditions for the ‘Sail-thru’ full afternoon tea at Storrs Hall
- A copy of your credit card details must be provided on purchase of the full afternoon tea. A sum of £500 will be taken from your card if the tea service, for 2, is not returned to the hotel.
- All breakages must be paid for. Each element of the tea service is itemised and prices can be provided on request.
- The sail-thru full afternoon tea service will start this July, everyday 2pm – 5pm subject to availability.
- Advance booking is required to ensure the service can be provided based on availability and weather conditions.
