New Chef, new menu, same great dining experience

Locally born Alistair Tasker is the new Head Chef at Lancaster House Hotel and this Spring sees the launch of his first "Foodworks" menu, which will of course be a celebration of our great local produce. Storrs Hall - Lake Windermere

May - To start the month with a fact and “tale” in the Irish Calendar May 1st is Beltane (Bealtaine, the first day of summer), followed by a bit of Irish logic, which was from Mr McQuillan. Mr McQuillan walked into a bar and ordered Martini after Martini, each time removing the olives and placing them in a jar. When the jar was filled with olives and all the drinks consumed, the Irishman started to leave. "S’cuse me," said a customer, who was puzzled over what Mr McQuillan had done. "What was that all about?" "Nothing," said Mr McQ, "my wife just send me out for a jar of olives." So, at Storrs, during May we will be serving a Martini with an olive, when you come either for lunch or dinner, as a pre-meal drink.

Lunch and dinner is subject to availability and the regular Relish discount applies on the meal(s).

June

It must be good and sunny weather by now and therefore the Full Afternoon Tea might be a good reason to come to Storrs. To make it even easier we offer 3 for 2. Full afternoon tea is £15.50pp, with weather permitting, perhaps served on the lawn, where every 3rd guest is free of charge. On top of that the regular 10% Relish discount also applies.

July

The Spanish name for July is Julio. He has gone on holiday for the month, but he left Rioja. We serve a glass of white or red Rioja as an apéritif, when you have dinner in our restaurant. Dinner is £39.50 pp. Reservations subject to availability and the regular Relish discounts still applies.

  1. The card holder on presentation of the card is entitled to: 10% discount on all food purchases.
  2. The card holder must be present at the time of the transation.
  3. The Relish Card must be presented to obtain the discount.
  4. The Relish Card remains the property of English Lakes Hotels Ltd., and can be suspended or withdrawn at any time, without notice or reason given.
  5. The Relish Card is not transferable.
  6. The Relish Card cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion, unless specified as a Relish Card addittional promotion.
  7. The Relish Card cannot be used for drinks purchases.
  8. From time to time additional promotions and benefits will be offered and made know to the card holder.
  9. Discount structure is not available to parties of ten or more.
