RYA Sailing courses
Low Wood Watersports centre, nestled on the beautiful shores of Lake Windermere offers year round Royal Yachting Association (RYA) approved sailing courses and sessions to all levels from the beginner to RYA Instructor standard.
Tailored to suit your needs we can offer tuition to suit you - it could be a half-day taster session for your very first sail or if you have your own boat we will show you how to get the most out of it!
Our fully qualified instructors are here to help you through every step of your experience and are keen to exceed your expectations and make it a fun and rewarding time!
All of our equipment is maintained to the highest standard and includes our Laser One, Laser Pico’s and Wayfarer dinghy’s. Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are also provided for all sessions.
Sailing courses
RYA Level One, Level Two or Seamanship Skills can be achieved in two days at the cost of £195 per person for groups of between two and six people
A five day RYA course gives you a level One and Two course costing £400 per person.
One to one tuition is also available at £155 per day for both taster sessions and RYA certificate courses.

Course Content
Dinghy Level 1 - Start Sailing
Introduction to the sport of sailing. Covers all you need to know to get afloat under supervision.

Dinghy Level 2 - Basic Skills
This course sets out the foundations of sailing for you. By the end of it you'll be a competent light wind sailor.

Dinghy Seamanship Skills
How to handle a boat in all circumstances and solve problems afloat.
